Welcome Donors, Partners and Friends

The first quarter of the year has passed and Prochorus has seen many new and exciting developments.

We have grown to the Belville and Delft area! Keep your eyes on our Facebook page and website for more updates. Many of our projects have increased in number and reach and there are many exciting prospects on the horizon.

We would love it if you could Partner in Prayer with us on the following points:

1. Laborers: With the new developments, we have experienced a need for increased human capacity in our offices.

2. Xhiliraces: We are almost a month away from our annual fundraiser and we are really putting our faith out for more sponsors and just the general success of the event.

Thank you for the support thus far, and for walking this amazing journey with Prochorus.

XHILIRACES l

Prochorus Community Development, in collaboration with Kibwe Kids will be hosting a Trail Running and Mountain Biking event named Xhiliraces. The Xhiliraces is a multi-discipline, multi-distance race that caters for various skill and fitness levels. The Xhiliraces is also a multi generational event that caters for all ages. The event will be taking place at the beautiful Oak Valley Estate, perfect for skilled as well as amateur trail runners and mountain bikers.

This is a family event and if you are not riding or running, you can take part in the family walk which is pram and pusher bike friendly. There will be a fun park for the kids and a variety of food and good stalls.

Prochorus invites you to partner with us as we raise awareness of our cause and fund raise to see our cause remain. There are many ways to take part in this event. You can register to race, register a stall to contribute to our market, Volunteer on the day or make a donation.

We intend to make this an annual affair – and the Xhiliraces will be our flagship fundraiser.

If you want more information about the race visit: www.xhiliraces.com or alternativeley email info@xhiliraces.com

Dream

During term 1 the Dream-groups have been functioning mainly in the Cloetesville and Jonkershoek areas, around Stellebosch.  There have been a few beautiful moments where the girls and mentors have grown in team work, shared hearts and adventures, and got down to basics.  This year leadership development and taking ownership of the future – by making decisions today – is the driving vision for the group times and get-togethers. The first term of 2017 has seen some of the groups joining a cycle tour, doing well in school and growing in basic biblical knowledge of what it means to be a woman of God. “It is important that the girls know that they are not defined by the social context that they are living in”, one of the mentors commented.

We would love to still see some of the leaders in our groups start their own Dream-groups in 2017. Therefore we have started a culture within the groups, where the girls come with their own ideas and ‘practice’ their leadership skills within a safe environment.
